Like a bad penny, the Bonehead Velocifero has appeared back on the market place via Ebay. There’s no getting away from the fact that this machine was a little “dog eared” when it first appeared in late 2014, offered by a Pawnbroking company which was dissolved a few months later. It was first offered at £5k and dropped to just under £4k in 2015 when it was creatively re-advertised as an Arbarth Bonehead - misleading or what?
A current Ebay listing has this machine priced at £8.5k by a trendy London antiques/mid 20th century furniture and design classics company. Condition is described as “Acceptable”. The most glaring feature is the incorrectly fitted front mudguard, which appears to show the right hand fork cover broken off. Also Bonehead’s signature has partially rubbed off the horncast - whereas the signature which was also applied to the rear bodywork has vanished!!
Just to muddy the waters further, the same machine is also advertised in parallel on Ebay by a car dealer in the north west, with a price tag of …. wait for it (deep breath) £9,995.00 - condition: GOOD !! The detailed description has been copied and pasted from the previous 2014 / 2015 Ebay sellers and includes the following line “WE ARE LOOKING FOR £5995 BECAUSE ITS A ONE OF ITS KIND PIECE” It’s also listed as being an Italijet Vilicofero, but hey, I’m just picking at this now!
Irrespective of what price someone wants to acquire this machine, I strongly advise prospective owners to view this in the steel and plastic, as you may be disappointed with it’s current condition.
