as you may know, I have had so much difficulty setting up my carb. (Delorto) Now, when at rest with the (non standard) fuel tap ON it is leaking fuel from the middle port just below the air inlet. (I think this may be called atomiser outlet?). - see photo.
I wonder if this is normal with the engine not running - and is as a result of my having removed the vacuum operated fuel tap?

Well it shouldn't really leak but it certainly wouldn't be leaking with the vacuum operated fuel tap, why did you remove it as they're available from italjet.co.uk?

thanks for that davla, I had just reached that conclusion myself overnight. As I figure it, with the motor running this dripping of fuel would be forced into the carb by the incoming air but with the engine not running it would keep dripping out of the air inlet of the carb - if there was no vacuum operated fuel tap that is. I decided to remove this because I was having problems starting the beast and decided to remove any unnecessarry components. I had discussed this on the forum but nobody spotted this potential problem! I did buy a new vacuum tap so will now fit it - now that I had the machine running yesteday. cheers geoff
